Leonardo DiCaprio's Meteorological Musings
On a recent Oprah Winfrey show, Leonardo Dicaprio shared his long-range weather predictions with the world.
Hollywood's amateur meteorologist gave the audience his "sky is falling" theory.
DiCaprio showed a clip from a new documentary (which he narrates) titled "Global Warming."
The recent hurricanes and tsunamis are a forewarning of what is to come, in DiCaprio's estimation.
Apparently, he is unaware of the fact that hurricane frequency follows a cycle. From 1947-1960, there were 14 land-falling storms. But from 1960-1988, there were only 2. It seems, at present, that we are in one of the periods of heightened hurricane activity.
DiCaprio said, "Global warming is not only the number one environmental issue that we're facing today, but one of the most important issues facing all of humanity."
"We're in a situation right now where we're basically emitting too much of this carbon pollution from our cars and our electric power plants that burn coal into the atmosphere, and it's causing our planet to heat up," he added
It seems that DiCaprio has far more confidence than the scientific community, which is divided as to the certainty of the theory of global warming.
The Left Coast Report wants to know which non-emitting vehicle transported DiCaprio back to his non-emitting abode.
